Description
Harpsichord House is an early 19th-century building that has a wedge-shaped plan. The exterior features stucco with a brick ground floor, a parapet, and a cornice. The main front of the house faces east and consists of three storeys with three windows. There is a canted bay in the centre of the first and second floors, which has sashes without glazing bars, while the ground floor has casements and a central French window. The north end of the building comes to a point. The west side, which is the rear, is weatherboarded and has a room built out on the first floor over a passageway and steps; this room connects the house to the hillside rocks. Additionally, there is a round-headed doorway with a semi-circular fanlight on this side. A late 19th-century red brick wing is located on the south side, which has one window and a canted bay on the first floor. Harpsichord House and West Hill Villa together form a group.
