Description

The Lord Nelson Public House is an early 19th-century building that has undergone later alterations. It features a stuccoed exterior and a hipped slate roof, rising to three storeys. The front facing The Bourne has a modern public house façade made of wood, which includes two multi-pane windows and an entablature above a central doorway topped with a segmental pediment. There are no windows above this entrance, but there is a large central painted panel depicting Nelson, flanked by two smaller oval medallions featuring paintings of HMS Victory. On the left side, the ground floor has modern windows, with roughcast above and a cornice at the first-floor cill level. The building has five sash windows with glazing bars, while the right-hand end is blind, and there are three bays on the right side topped with a parapet. The building is included for its group value.
