Description

This bus shelter, dating from around 1900, is located on the south side of Rock-a-Nore Road in Hastings. It is constructed from wood and cast iron, featuring glazed panels and a shingled roof. The rectangular structure is supported by six cast-iron columns that hold up a half-hipped roof adorned with patterned shingles and deep overhanging eaves. The columns are enhanced with decorative cast-iron brackets that are secured by cast-iron rosettes. Between the columns, there are wood and glazed panels with beaded panelling. Inside, four benches have been replaced with later 20th-century versions. A similar bus shelter can be found in East Parade.
