Description
Forge Cottage is a house that dates from the 17th century and was altered in the early 18th century. It features a 'baffle entry' design and is built over two storeys with a combination of brick and timber framing, showcasing a Queen post roof visible in the gable ends. The roof is covered with old tiles and there is a central chimney.
The north front has two bays, with the left bay featuring three-light leaded casement windows; the ground floor windows have segmental heads, while there is a similar window above on the upper floor to the right. The central door is ledged and sits under a flat hood supported by cut brackets. At the rear, there is an outshut and a two-storey brick gabled extension from the 19th century. Additionally, there is a four-light leaded window on the ground floor of the west gable, which dates from the 20th century.
