Description
No. 12 is a late 19th-century house, now offices. It is rectangular in plan and has a coped gabled slate roof. The brick construction is notable for large flanking chimneys with fluted shafts, offset heads, and clay pots. The front is three bays wide, with a dentilled brick string course at the first floor level and a similar, deeper string course at the eaves, featuring brick corbels to the gables. The windows are sash windows. A full-height canted bay window is located on the left-hand side. The central bay contains a four-panelled door with a plain fanlight. A semi-circular arched opening on the right-hand side once provided access to the former stable yard, and retains original large planked doors. The front is further characterised by three bays of late 19th-century spearhead iron railings set upon a rendered plinth. To the left of the railings are four stone steps leading to return railings on both sides of the front door. The building is included on the list for its group value.
