Description

Datchet Road Lodge and Gate Piers, built around 1820-1830, is a single-storey lodge constructed from coursed Portland stone rubble with decorative dressings. It features a corbelled crenellated parapet and a battered plinth. Two canted bays are positioned on either side of the doorway, with the southern bay being broader and featuring a raised central merlon and cusped arched lights, while the northern bay has lancets. The doorway itself is a four-centred moulded arch with block stops. The southern bay extends as a half octagon to the east, and the northern bay similarly returns to the road. The gate piers are made of dressed Portland rubble and are topped with lamps.
