Description
This is a bank building of 1930, notable for its detailed design that mimics the style of the late 18th and Regency periods. It is three storeys high. The ground and first floors are constructed of plum-coloured brick, topped by a stone cornice. The second floor is stuccoed and set back, featuring an iron balcony and pilaster strips flanking the windows. The building contributes to a significant group of buildings, which includes Nos 1 to 4, 4a, 5 to 9, 9A, 10 to 26 High Street, the Dairy Pavilion in the garden of No 7, and Mistress Pages House.
