Description

Manor Cottage and Manor House Cottage are a pair of houses, originally a single dwelling, built in the 18th century and altered in the 20th century. The brick building has an old tile roof with a hip. It has a long, rectangular shape, with the east end facing the road. The building is two storeys high, with a tall chimney on the front roof slope to the right of the centre and another on the right hip roof slope; both chimneys have clay pots. Most windows are sash windows with glazing bars, with gauged brick heads. A wooden moulded eaves cornice runs along the top. The south front, which faces the road, has nine bays. The first floor has casement windows with horizontal glazing bars in the fourth, seventh, eighth and ninth bays. A window in the fifth bay is blocked. There are two six-panel entrance doors, located in the third and sixth bays; the second door has a simple, projecting hood above it. A mid-20th century garage and cottage, known as Manor Lodge, which adjoins the west end, is not of significant architectural interest.
