Description
Church Cottages Post Office is a row of three cottages, now functioning as a post office and two cottages, dating from the 17th century and 19th century, with alterations made in the 20th century. The building features a combination of part timber frame with painted brick infill and part painted brick. It has an old tile gabled roof and a rectangular plan, likely consisting of three framed bays. The structure is one and a half storeys high and includes a large ridge chimney in the center, which has an offset head and clay pots.
Facing the road, there are three gabled dormers, which contain one two-light and two three-light leaded casement windows. Below, there are four windows with glazing bars: on the left, there is a double sash shop window; in the center, a sash window; to the right of this, a horizontal sliding sash; and a larger sash window at the right end. Between the sash window and the next window on the left, there is a plank door with a segmental-arched head, and a similar door is located to the right of the shop window. The shop entry is situated on the north (left) gable, which also features an early 20th-century shop window.
