Description
Nos. 21 and 22 on High Street are 17th century and early 18th century buildings that feature timber framing with a stucco finish. They stand three storeys high and have deep boxed eaves along with a steep hipped roof covered in new tiles, which includes two new dormers. The upper floors have four windows that contain renewed glazing bar sashes set within flush architrave surrounds. These upper floors overhang a modern shop front on the ground floor.
No. 23 is an early 19th century building with a three storey painted brick front that has a parapet coping. It features a plat band above the first floor and two windows with glazing bar sashes and stucco architraves on the first floor. The ground floor has an altered early 19th century shop front framed by pilasters, complete with a frieze and cornice.
These buildings are part of a group that includes Nos. 1 to 4, 4a, 5 to 9, 9A, and 10 to 26, as well as the Dairy Pavilion in the garden of No. 7 and Mistress Pages House.
