Description
North Lodge to Silwood Park is a lodge that has been converted into a house, built between 1876 and 1878 by Alfred Waterhouse, with alterations made in the 20th century. The structure is made of red brick in Flemish bond and features a steeply pitched tiled roof adorned with crested ridge tiles. It has a T-plan layout and consists of one and two storeys. There are two end gable chimneys with offset heads. The lodge includes sash windows with segmental-arched heads. The two-bay gable facing the road has a string course at the first-floor sill level and toothed brickwork beneath the verges. A 20th-century glazed entrance door is located in the left section of the building and is set back from the façade. The interior has not been inspected. This lodge is one of five lodges built by Alfred Waterhouse for Silwood Park.
