Description
Post Office Cottage is a small house that was originally a post office, built in the mid-18th century and altered in the 20th century. The building is constructed of brick and features a hipped old tile roof. It has a central staircase plan and stands two storeys tall. There are two chimneys: one very tall chimney with a string course, offset head, and clay pots located on the left end wall, and a smaller chimney situated behind on the side wall. The cottage has sash windows with glazing bars set in architrave frames, which are topped with gauged brick arches. The entrance front faces southeast and is symmetrical, consisting of three bays. The central entrance door, which is from the 20th century, has a glazed top part and is sheltered by a small moulded hood with a pediment.
