Description
23 The Row is a house dating from the 16th and 17th centuries. It features a timber frame with brick infill and a hipped and half hipped thatched roof. The building has a long rectangular plan with large cross gables that rise from the eaves on opposing long sides, positioned off-centre to the southeast. It is one storey high with an attic. On the northeast elevation, there is a dormer cut into the thatch, with stacks at each end of the ridge. The northeast elevation also includes a three-light casement in the gable, another three-light casement below it, a glazing bar sash off-centre to the right beneath the dormer, and a single light casement to the far right. The entrance is located on the rear elevation. Inside, the interior features exposed timber framing in the internal partition, which includes one cruck frame.
