Description
The stable block, now used as garages, was built in 1860 and features a distinctive Neo-Caroline style. It is constructed of red brick with a blue diaper pattern and has a hipped plain tile roof. The building is designed in an L-shape with a projecting center to the north and includes a pedimented archway. It has one storey and an attic, with a brick plinth, rusticated brick quoins, stone dressings, a rendered cornice, and boxed eaves.
At the center, there is a panelled cupola topped with a concave pyramidal lead roof and a weathervane. The structure includes six hipped dormers with volute shouldered and eared window surrounds. There are two windows located in the outer bays, featuring glazing bar sashes. The central archway breaks through the eaves and is topped with an open pediment over a segmental arch. The keystone features a volute bracket with a head of a horse and is inscribed with "CE/1860." Inside the courtyard, there is a canopy with a slate roof and skylights supported by iron in seven bays. To the west, there is a 20th-century coachman's cottage, which is of no special interest.
