Description

Lambden's Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the early to mid 17th century, with additions from the 18th and 19th centuries. The north-west block features a rendered timber frame that has been refaced with red brick on the left side, a 20th-century weatherboarded first floor on the right, and an old tile roof with a half hip. The building has three framed bays and is two storeys high, with an off-centre ridge stack to the left. On the first floor, there is a two-light casement window to the right, while the ground floor has a large segmental-headed three-light casement on the left and a two-light 20th-century metal casement to the right, flanking a central 20th-century one-light casement. Beneath the stack, there is a segmental-headed boarded door located off-centre to the left, between the first and second windows from the left, along with a 20th-century lean-to porch featuring a two-light segmental-headed casement and a half-glazed door on the right-hand return front. To the right, there is a projecting one-storey 19th-century addition made of red brick, which has a half-hipped tile roof, a stack, and a segmental-headed boarded door, along with a segmental-headed three-light casement in the left-hand return front. The south-east block is constructed of red brick with a grey brick lacing course and has an old tile roof. It is also two storeys high, with end stacks. On the second floor, there are three-light casement windows flanking a central two-light casement, while the ground floor features two segmental-headed three-light casements flanking a central gabled porch with a boarded door.
