Description

Elm Lodge is a mid-18th century house with alterations to the ground floor in the late 18th century. It is constructed of grey brick with red dressings, incorporating grey brick lozenges below the first-floor windows, a plinth, and a plat band. A moulded brick eaves cornice sits atop the hipped roof covered in old tiles, with end stacks and a rear stack to the left.

The main part of the house is two storeys and five bays wide, featuring glazing bar sashes with exposed wooden boxes. The ground floor has two tripartite glazing bar sashes flanking a central six-panelled door. The door is topped by a rectangular fanlight and set within a doorcase consisting of panelled pilasters with brackets above, supporting a fluted frieze adorned with urns, and a cornice that projects forward over the pilasters.

A grey brick addition is located to the right, also with red dressings. It has a dentil brick eaves cornice and a hipped roof covered in old tiles. This later section contains one first-floor and two ground-floor glazing bar sashes with exposed wooden boxes.
