Description

The Winterbourne War Memorial is made of sandstone and is situated by the roadside. It features a Latin cross on top of a tapered shaft, which is set on a square two-tiered plinth. This structure rests on a square single-stepped base. The plinth has an inscription in incised letters that reads: "TO THE GLORY OF GOD AND IN GRATEFUL MEMORY OF THE MEN OF THIS PARISH WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES IN THE GREAT WAR 1914 – 1918 AND IN THE SECOND WORLD WAR 1939 – 1945 (NAMES)."
