Description

Burgess Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 17th or 18th century. It has two storeys and is constructed of brick over a timber frame, topped with a tiled roof that features a gable chimney on the right side. At the rear, there is an outshut. The front facade includes three vertical sliding sash windows with glazing bars and exposed box frames, along with a projecting brick band at the first floor level. There is one window with a cambered head on each side of the central door, which is sheltered by a simple porch supported by thin columns and features four panels. Inside, the timber frame structure is visible, and the rooms to the north contain large fireplaces, one of which in the living room has a brick dated 1754 on the left side. A central, simple 19th-century staircase is also present.
