Description
The East Lodge is a gate lodge built around 1755, with 20th-century alterations to the rear. It is constructed of red brick and features a plinth and an impost band above three tall recessed arched panels on the front, each with keystones. The building has a hipped roof covered with old tiles, adorned with a dentil brick eaves cornice and a 20th-century chimney stack. It stands two storeys high and consists of three bays, with glazing bar sash windows on the ground floor and circular windows on the first floor. A central 20th-century brick porch with a triangular pediment and a five-panelled door enhances the entrance. This lodge was originally one of two lodges serving Calcot House.
