Description

No. 6 Cheap Street is an early 19th-century town house, built before 1837. It has two storeys and a semi-basement, featuring a double-fronted design with three windows. The roof is hipped and covered with Welsh slate, complemented by moulded brick stacks. The exterior is made of red brick with yellow brick dressings, and it includes a dentil eaves cornice and a plinth. The windows are recessed sash types with glazing bars, topped by gauged flat brick arches. The entrance is also recessed and accessed by steps, flanked by pilasters on the quoin of the reveals, with an entablature and pediment above. It has a rectangular fanlight and a panelled door. Inside, there is a contemporary staircase with a lantern light above.
