Description
Woolston Secondary Mixed School was built in 1857 by The National Society in memory of Reverend William Lewis Davis. Originally consisting of two separate buildings, they are now connected at ground floor level. The school is constructed of coursed rubble and features one storey with attics, topped by a slate roof with ridge tiles. The gable ends have stone coping and kneelers, and the corners are accentuated with long and short quoins. The windows are either mullioned or mullioned and transomed casements, with hood moulding above the windows in the gables. The south-east building includes a spirelet with a louvred lantern and a weathervane, while the south-west building has a bellcote above its gable. There is a plinth and gabled weather porches, with a tablet positioned above the porch of the south-east building.
