Description
St Mary Extra Cemetery Chapels were built in 1879 by W.H. Mitchell. This pair of chapels, one for Anglican use and the other for Dissenting worship, are joined in the middle. They are constructed of red brick featuring blue brick patterns. The slate roof is adorned with bands of fishscale tiles, decorative ridge tiles, and cross-shaped saddlestones. The Anglican chapel has an apsidal end, a central gable with a bellcote, and paired entrances below. There are four lancet windows in total, separated by brick buttresses.
