Description

The obelisk in Mayfield Park was erected in 1810 by W Chamberlayne MP to honor the politician Charles James Fox. It is made of stone and features a tall, plain obelisk set on a square base with three steps. The obelisk is inscribed with the words "The earth is the lord's and the fulness thereof."
