Description
Sun Buildings is a mid-19th century commercial building designed in the Italianate style. It stands three storeys high with a basement, and is faced with stone. The building features a parapet with a balustrade and an elaborate bracket cornice that conceals the roof. It has long and short quoins and moulded bands between the floors.
On the second floor, there are four sash windows with moulded architraves, cornices above, and stops below. The first floor contains four mullioned and transomed windows, each topped with elaborate curved pediments, flanked by pilasters and decorated aprons beneath. The ground floor has three sash windows with round-headed arches, and there is a stone balustrade to the area.
To the right, a portico features a balustraded cornice and two stone columns, with a round-headed doorcase that includes keystones.
