Description
Bevois Mansions is a terrace of houses built around 1840. The buildings are constructed of stucco and stand three storeys high, with slate roofs. The terrace comprises numbers 1 to 5, each house stepping down approximately one foot to follow the slope of the hill, and each featuring a single window and door on the ground floor, and two windows above. The windows have quoined dressings, with intact glazing bars. The facade is marked with scored jointing lines and features a parapet, with projecting quoins at the corners and to all windows. Each house has a Roman Doric porch with a dentil cornice above, and a six-panelled door with the top two panels cut away and glazed. Number 5 has a later Victorian oriel window to the first floor.
