Description

East and West Lodges at Coley Park are a pair of early 19th-century buildings designed by A Alexander. They are rendered with hipped slate roofs. The frontages are matching, featuring plinths and a string course above the ground floor. Each lodge has a projecting stone Doric portico, a six-panel door, and flanking blind arched recesses. Above the door is a small arched window with radiating glazing, set within a gable. A moulded wooden cornice runs along the gable verges. The north front of the lodges features a string course that acts as an impost mould to an arched sash window within an arched recess, with the cornice continued. A further set-back extension is also present. The lodges are connected by cast-iron railings, with low arrowhead dog-rails. Panelled standards support the gates, and a side gate is located at West Lodge.
