Description
The small circular dovecot at Coleypark Farm dates from the 16th century and was altered in the 17th century. It is constructed of red brick and flint, with a rendered finish. The roof is covered with old tiles, and there is a small lantern entrance. A door is located on the west side, featuring a lozenge-shaped datestone above it that reads "1593 TV," which may refer to Thomas Vachell.
Inside, the dovecot is lined with nests made from curved chamfered planks, which are separated by blocks of stone. One of these blocks is a patterned tile believed to have originated from Reading Abbey. The potence, a structure used for accessing the nests, is still present.
