Description

The retaining walls of the axial east-west garden terrace walk at Caversham Court are 17th century structures that have been altered and likely rebuilt in the 18th century. They support a large yew hedge behind the walk and are constructed of red brick, standing approximately 4 feet 6 inches high. The walls feature stone gate piers leading to steps, which incorporate 12th century corbel heads, probably sourced from Reading Abbey, along with fragmentary capping.
