Description

Wesley Methodist Church, dated 1812, is constructed of red brick with stone and white brick dressings, featuring a steeple primarily made of white brick and tiled roofs. The church has a Gothic plan and elevation, comprising a four-bay aisled nave with a flush transept and a one-bay chancel. Inside, there is a three-sided gallery. The main porch is located to the northeast and includes a three-stage tower with a steeple. The church has lancet windows and decorated tracery in the large north window. The two spires of St John's and Wesley Chapel are close together and serve as important landmarks for Reading.
