Description

This is a late 18th-century house, altered in later periods. It is constructed of red brick laid in a Flemish bond pattern, with stone dressings and a rendered plinth. The roof is hipped along the east side, with an M-shaped hipped pair to the rear, and is covered with plain tiles, featuring a brick stack.

The original building has a rectangular plan. The front elevation has three windows and the entrance is located to the south. The doorcase features reeded pilasters and shaped bracket caps supporting an open pediment, above a six-panelled door. An arched fanlight with unusual curved bars is above the door. The window openings have flat arches of gauged brick, containing sash windows: six-over-six sashes to the ground and first floors, and three-over-six sashes in the square openings on the second floor. A further three bays of three-over-six sash windows are recessed into the façade on the second floor. A contemporary rainwater pipe with a head rises against the front of the building. A brick parapet, possibly rebuilt, sits above a flat cornice. The rear, west elevation has irregular window placement on the first and second floors; the ground floor is largely obscured by later additions.
