Description

This is a house dating from 1820. It is constructed of red brick laid in a Flemish bond pattern, with stone and composite stone dressings. The rear (west) elevation is of grey brick with red brick dressings. The house is a narrow, rectangular shape, running east to west and facing London Street with its principal elevation.

The building is three storeys high and two windows wide on the east side, with the entrance located to the south. The doorway and the ground-floor window are set within matching round-arched recesses featuring moulded impost blocks and mask keystones made of composite stone. The six-panelled door is topped by a fanlight. A string course also forms the cill for the first-floor windows. The first- and second-floor windows have flat arches formed with gauged brick, and contain sash windows with six-over-six panes to the first floor, and three-over-three panes to the second floor. A flat stone cornice sits above a brick parapet, which is finished with shallow stone coping. The rear elevation has a single sash window on each floor, all with red-brick surrounds. The roof is hipped, covered in plain tiles, and has two ridge stacks.
