Description
These are two early 19th-century terraced houses located on Bellevue Terrace in Southsea, Portsmouth. They are painted brick with a plain tile roof and a painted brick stack at the centre. Each house is three storeys high and has one wide bay. A 20th-century door with an overlight is on the left side of each property. No. 2 is recessed and has panelled reveals, a late 20th-century Doric pilaster doorcase and entablature, and a porch. A two-storey rectangular bay extends to the right on both the ground and first floors of each house, featuring a tripartite front configuration on each floor: a central sash window flanked by narrower sashes. No. 3 has 20th-century casements on the ground floor. Both houses share pilasters, divided lights, a frieze, and a modillion cornice to each floor. The second floor of No. 2 has a 2-light 6-pane casement window with attached shutters, while No. 3 has an unequal sash window. A brick dentil string course and a coped parapet complete the exterior. The interior was not inspected.
