Description

This is a house dating to circa 1809, located on Jubilee Terrace, Southsea, Portsmouth. The house is stuccoed and has a Welsh slate roof with a rendered stack on the rear slope. It is three storeys high, with an attic and basement. A flight of three stone steps leads to a recessed six-panelled door, which is protected by a 20th-century porch, and a moulded architrave. To the left of the door is a two-storey tripartite bow window, with a 12-pane centre sash and 8-pane flanking sashes on both the ground and first floors. The windows are flanked by pilasters, with plain strips dividing the panes. A panelled frieze, cornice, and apron complete the bow window's design. The second floor has a single four-pane sash, above a band course, and is finished with a coped parapet. A 20th-century four-light flat dormer sits in the roof. The interior has not been inspected. Attached early 19th-century cast-iron railings are present in the basement area.
