Description
Hampshire Court Hotel, originally two houses, is part of an early terrace built around 1820-1830. The building is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond, with No.30 featuring grey brick headers. The roof is concealed, and there is a brick stack on the right side of No.30.
The hotel has three storeys and two wide bays. No.29 features five steps leading up to a 20th-century glazed door with a fanlight, set beneath a round gauged brick arch with moulded imposts. To the right, there is a three-storey tripartite canted bay that extends to the ground, with each floor having a central four-pane sash window and narrow flanking sashes. Paired pilasters divide the lights, and there are brackets and moulded cornices.
No.30 also has five steps leading to a recessed 20th-century door with panelled reveals and ribbed pilasters. It has a projecting 20th-century porch with engaged Doric columns, a frieze, and a pediment. To the right, there is a smaller two-storey tripartite canted bay similar to No.29. Both bays have guard rails attached to the ground floor sills, and the second floor features a four-pane sash window set under a flat gauged brick arch. The two houses share a brick dentil band and a coped rendered parapet. The interior has not been inspected.
