Description

This is an early 19th-century house, now with a shop. It is constructed of grey brick with red brick quoins and dressings. The roof is covered with plain tiles. The building is three storeys high and one bay wide. The ground floor has a modern shop front with a central door and flanking shop windows, which extend to Bishop Street on the left. This replaces a former 19th-century front; original pilasters are intact on the right and to the left of the return. The first floor has a 16-pane sash window set under a flat, gauged brick arch, and the second floor has a 12-pane unequal sash window, also set under a similar arch. A brick dentil band course runs along the building, topped by a coped parapet. The left return to Bishop Street is constructed of red bricks in Flemish bond to the left of the shop front return. The first floor has two 16-pane sashes and the second floor has two 12-pane sashes here. The interior has not been inspected.
