Description

Glebe Cottage is a house dating to the 17th century, with an 18th-century west wing. It has a roof covered with coursed rubble and fishscale tiles. The house is two storeys high, with a letter 'L' shaped plan. The original 17th-century range has a gable end facing the road, and an 18th-century range fronts the road, set back, with single-storey bays extending to the west. The east elevation of the 17th-century range features a glazed door to the right, and two bays of two-light casement windows. It has stone coped gables with kneelers, a central brick stack, and a stone stack to the rear gable. The front of the house facing the street has two bays of two-light casement windows on either side of the gable, with a single light window to the left and one to the attic. The 18th-century wing has a porch with posts, shaped bargeboards, and fishscale roof tiles. It also features a three-light casement window and a two-light window above, with a brick gable stack and a brick coped gable. A single-storey wing, set back, has a brick coped gable.
