Description
This is a late 17th century, two-story house located on the west side of Market Square in Stony Stratford. The lower portion of the building is timber-framed and covered with a rendered finish that creates the appearance of incised coursing. A steep, machine-tiled roof tops the structure, with brick chimney stacks rising from it. Two hipped dormers are visible on the roof. The building features a moulded brick cornice. It forms a single block with number 33 Church Street. The upper floor has three-light casement windows, with a smaller window to the left of the central one. The ground floor openings are irregularly spaced, containing a three-light window to the left of the entrance, a two-light window to the right, and a very small window on the left side. A plain, modern hood with flush panels covers the front door. The building is part of a larger group that includes numbers 36 to 40 (even) Church Street, Mill Lane, and all other listed buildings within Market Square.
