Description
This is a row of early to mid-19th century townhouses, numbers 18 to 22 New Street, Stony Stratford. The buildings are two storeys and an attic in height, with one window each except for number 22, which has two windows on the first floor. They are constructed of brick, with occasional blue headers, and have tiled roofs with a gabled dormer window each. The brick chimneys have decorative cap modillions, except for number 20. Number 22 has a pebble-dashed front. The windows are glazing bar sash windows with chamfered brick sills; number 18 has stone window heads and keystones, while number 21 has wooden window heads. A blind window is situated between numbers 18 and 21. Numbers 18 and 20 have paired doorcases with a moulded hood over the doors, with a similar design applied to number 22. The buildings are part of a wider group which includes numbers 3 to 17 (the Masonic Hall), numbers 2 to 24 (even), and an adjacent stable building.
