Description

Nos 1 to 5 Lower Weald is a group of houses dated 1862 located in Calverton. The first three houses, Nos 1, 2, and 3, form a symmetrical block facing the road, while Nos 4 and 5 are set back to the south. Nos 1, 2, and 3 are one and a half storeys high, constructed from rubble with brick flat arches over the doors and windows. They feature a tiled roof and two wide brick chimneys with toothed band belay caps. On the ground floor, there are three three-light casements, and the upper floor has four gabled dormers, two of which are large and two small, each with two-light casements. Nos 4 and 5 are also one and a half storeys and built from rubble, featuring cambered brick heads over the ground floor windows and the door of No 4. There are four windows on the ground floor, with the second from the left sharing a lintel with the door of No 5. Additionally, there are three gabled half dormers.
