Description

First Thatch Cottage is a 17th-century cottage that was altered in the 1970s after a fire destroyed the roof. The building has a timber frame with walls made of timber stud and white painted brick, topped by a steeply pitched thatch roof. It is one storey high with an attic. The front elevation features a two-light casement window, a door, and three and two-light casements. The gable walls display exposed framing and include attic windows. Inside, there is a stone inglenook fireplace at the center, along with exposed posts and tie beams.
