Description
Old Post Office and Slade Cottage are cottages dating from the 17th and 18th centuries that have been altered. They are constructed from rubble stone and stucco, all of which is painted. The eastern part features an old tiled roof, while the western part has thatch. There are brick and stone chimneys. The western part is two storeys high, with a glazed door and two casement windows on the ground floor, and one casement window on the first floor. The left-hand bay is set back slightly and has one casement window on each floor. The eastern part is one storey with an attic, featuring a door with a thatched porch in the angle of the two parts, a small window to the right, and an oriel window in the thatched dormer. The gable wall and flank wall have four windows, with the two central ones being small oriels and one three-light casement on the first floor. The right-hand wing, which is part of Slade Cottage, is not of special interest.
