Description
There are two tomb chests located 8 metres north of the nave of St Margaret's Church. The first tomb chest is dedicated to Robert Douglas, who died in 1783, and the second is for Robert and Anne George, who passed away in 1832. Both tomb chests are made of limestone with a brick core and plinth. The first chest features inclined fluted angles and a moulded top. The second chest is designed as a sarcophagus, adorned with a running-dog frieze that is interrupted by rectangular lateral panels, and each end has an urn set in a round-headed recess.
