Description

This property, originally a house later divided into two, likely dates to the 14th or 15th century, with significant extensions and alterations made in the mid-19th century. It consists of a long, single-depth range with a front wing and a parallel rear range. The front is rendered, while the rear is brick. A brick ridge stack rises from the centre, with lateral stacks positioned at the left-hand end and right-hand side of the front wing. The roof is tiled and hipped.

The building has two storeys and a six-window front. Small gables are visible, and a short wing projects in front of the ridge stack. The left-hand side of the front features three 3-light casement windows, two tripartite sash windows separated by a 6/6-pane sash, a single sash window to the wing, and a casement window to the right-hand section. A recessed doorway with a bracketed canopy leads to a 20th-century door on the right-hand end, accompanied by ground- and first-floor 3-light casements. A small 3-light window is situated under the eaves on the left-hand end. The unpainted rear range contains a timber doorcase with pilasters and a bracketed canopy over a panelled door, and a 3-light window above.

According to the owner, the interior retains elements of timber framing, although it has not been inspected. The building is of a large and complex design, and further investigation may reveal an even earlier date.
