Description
Bay Tree Villa is a house built around 1820, constructed of Flemish bond brick with brick lateral stacks and a hipped tiled roof. The building has a single-depth plan with a rear two-storey extension added in 1994. It stands two storeys tall with a basement and features a two-window range. The double-fronted design includes a timber trellis porch with a pointed archway and a raking roof, leading to a door with six flush panels. The windows have rubbed brick cambered heads and consist of 12/12-pane sashes, with a blind window located above the door. The basement windows are fitted with small panes, and there are late 19th-century sashes at the rear. Although the interior has not been inspected, it is reported to be unaltered, featuring a central stair, 19th-century fireplaces and cupboards, as well as a basement with a brick cellar and storage bays. The villa is recognized as an example of a polite small rural house in its original condition.
