Description
No. 11 Crow Lane is a house built in 1824, as indicated by deed evidence. The structure is made of ragstone rubble with brick dressings at the rear and is stuccoed at the front, topped with a hipped roof covered in Kent tiles. It has a double-depth plan with lateral stacks and a staircase located at the rear of the center. The house has two storeys and an attic.
The front facade features a symmetrical arrangement of three windows. There is a two-light casement window in a flat-roofed central dormer. A parapet with a moulded cornice and a first-floor plat band are present. The first floor has 12-pane hornless sash windows set in reveals beneath flat window arches, while the ground floor features round-headed 12-pane sash windows in arched recesses. The central entrance has a round-headed doorway with a panelled door and a fanlight.
At the rear, there are four 16-pane hornless sash windows with tumbled brick window arches, and a central round-headed stair window with 18 panes. Inside, the house has a cramped open-well staircase with stick balusters, along with some panelled doors and other joinery. There is evidence suggesting that the house may have been heightened to create the attic space.
