Description

The ice house at Westover is an early 19th-century structure. It features an ashlar entrance with a four-centred arched doorway and a tooled stone parapet. The entrance is cambered brick leading to an ice well. The main chamber is elongated and beehive-shaped, constructed mainly of stone rubble, with a stock brick roof. There is a circular aperture in the roof that measures about 10 feet in diameter at its widest point.
