Description

The quay wall, located below the former Nos 21-25 and Nos 27-35 on Sea Street in Newport, Isle of Wight, dates from the 18th century or earlier. It is constructed of coursed stone rubble and stands about 3 feet above river level, with some brickwork visible along the top. The wall retains two iron mooring rings and two cross-shaped iron ties. Originally, this wall served as the footings for houses that backed onto the River Medina.
