Description
Claremount House is a late 18th century to early 19th century building located on the southeast side of Market Hill in West Cowes. It is constructed of grey headers with red brick used for the window dressings, quoins, stringcourses, cornice, and parapet. The building features a slate roof and stands three storeys tall with attics, comprising three windows. The windows are sashes with intact glazing bars, and a bay has been added to the east window on the first floor. There are two dormers present. The entrance includes a doorcase with fluted pilasters and a pediment supported on brackets, which is accessed by a flight of four stone steps flanked by curved walls, with an iron lamp holder positioned above.
