Description

The Roman Villa, located on Avondale Road, was discovered in 1926 and is classified as a corridor type villa. A significant portion of the structure is roofed over and features a well-preserved bath-suite. The steam bath retains its original flooring, and some of the box flues are still in place. The hypocaust system is largely intact. Several rooms showcase pavements with geometric designs. A fireplace, along with part of its plaster hood, has survived. Additionally, a number of stone roofing tiles have been recovered, and the existing walls are constructed from local stone.
