Description
53 St John's Road is an early 19th-century building that stands two storeys tall and is rendered in a painted finish. It features a low-pitched hipped slate roof with projecting eaves. The facade has three windows, including one in a projecting bay to the north. The windows are recessed sash types with glazing bars and block sills. Notably, the window on the first floor nearest the projecting bay has been blocked, and an octagonal light has been inserted in its place. The building has an enclosed stucco porch with a cornice and a recessed door that has three fielded panels, two of which are glazed. A later wooden porch has been added, featuring a flat roof and fixed windows with glazing bars on each side, along with a glazed door at the front that has panelling to the side and a large rectangular fanlight above.
